Hal is the Owner and Principal for JHH Executive Consulting, a private consulting practice that specializes in Strategic Planning, M&A Assistance, and Advisory Services for Private Equity Firms, Venture Capitalists, and Technology Organizations.
Founded in 2014, the firm has actively advised both buyers and sellers in over 20 deals, starting with the sales of IBIS to Sonata in 2015 and most recently Hg Capital’s successful acquisition of HHA Exchange. Prior to starting the firm, Hal made over a dozen acquisitions on behalf of Microsoft while leading the Dynamics ERP business.
Hal co-founded Komiko Limited in 2015 and sold the company to Zoominfo in 2019. Komiko built a SaaS service focused was on data capture and artificial intelligence for sales and customer success professionals.
Hal led the Microsoft Dynamics ERP product development team from 2004 to 2014. His team produced the Dynamics AX, Dynamics GP, Dynamics SL, and Dynamics NAV products that form the foundation of today’s Dynamics 365 product family. Under his leadership, the team transformed and modernized the products and expanded Microsoft Dynamics’ presence globally.
Prior to joining the Microsoft’s Business Solutions Unit, Hal worked on the Microsoft Exchange Server team (1994-1998) and led the Microsoft Passport team (1998-2003). He holds 8 patents for various technologies across those products and services.
Hal currently sits on the board of ArcherPoint and chairs the Nomination and Governance Committee for the board. He and his wife Donna hold investments in various wine and food related ventures as well as technology ventures. They are also managing Shard Tabletop, a software startup in the gaming industry.
